'The Play' Workshops...
BlackSun's ethos is to workshop every play before we stage it. We like to do a playreading 'on it's feet'. It's a 'no holds bar, free for all, just give it a go and see' type of reading. Why? Because we find that just sitting round a table reading doesn't give the true essence of a piece. Plays should be seen and heard after all. And its more fun!

We also run workshop days where we will read a play 'on it's feet' in the morning and in the afternoon explore the characters and stories as well as the text. Our aim is to give actors the opportunity to play with classics they do not know very well or at all. To help discover original audition speeches and the chance to perform them in front of experienced directors and actors in a friendly environment.
With so many classical texts to choose from, where do you start? And how do you know what speech is right for you? Well, thats where we step in!
